It’s no longer available at the Sun-Times Web site, but you can read it HERE. […]

By: Rahm isn't good https://troylaraviere.net/2016/05/25/under-emanuel-principal-have-no-voice/comment-page-1/#comment-1591 Thu, 26 May 2016 02:29:08 +0000 http://troylaraviere.net/?p=1445#comment-1591 Troy, they are playing with the engineers again. Even after the President demonstrated the cost savings of having engineers in house, they rejected his contract. I know that it doesn’t sound like a huge thing, but it is all a part of the bigger picture. CPS is on the brink of bankruptcy, but they proceed to enter into even more expensive private contracts with companies like Aramark and Sodexo. Ask them where the cost savings are? Please, for the life of me, ask where the cost savings are. If the schools are getting half-assed treatment by way of janitorial services, imagine what will happen when Aramark and Sodexo can veto critical problems to the physical plants of schools.

Also, ask about the money to contract services out to private companies for the closed schools. Really, who is GWS and why were they awarded a contract for millions of dollars to transition closed schools, when all they did was hire convicted felons who left doors open and allowed for these closed schools to be raped and pillaged. And if you are wondering what they paid GWS to not take care of schools, and allow said schools to be raped and pillaged, while half-assedly heating the buildings with space heaters, while sticking the Board of Ed with those bills….which was much less cost effective than just running the boilers….

Rahm and his people are awful, awful men and women…

Bill Iacullo is right. The fix is in. And if you don’t kiss Rahm’s ring….

It is a fight for each teacher, each principal, each person on any school staff, and any parent or student who sees through the smoke screens of a “benevolent” test-score school reform. Your insights are helping us give shape to this growing resistance. It is a fight for each of us — and for ALL of us.
